Power, Safety & Adventure Combine in Chinook’s Award-Winning Type B-Plus

The 2025 Chinook Summit has been named RV of the Year by RV News, a distinction that cements its place as one of the most advanced and livable B-plus motorhomes on the market.

This award celebrates decades of innovation, craftsmanship and the company's quality over quantity approach. The 2025 Summit represents the very best of what the Chinook name stands for: power, safety and adventure, all wrapped in signature style.

The First All-Wheel-Drive Summit

Built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cutaway chassis, the 2025 Summit measures 23 feet, 9 inches with a 170-inch wheelbase, and for the first time ever, it’s equipped with all-wheel drive. That means better traction, more confidence, and smoother control in every driving condition.

Beyond performance, the Summit commands attention with its full-body paint and striking exterior. A sleek black “mask” wraps around the driver and passenger doors, accented by a mountain peak graphic that rises at the rear, symbolizing adventure and the spirit of exploration that defines every Chinook.

Power & Performance that Redefine Off-Grid Living

True to Chinook’s performance-first design philosophy, the Summit’s energy system is in a league of its own.

A 1,350-amp-hour Expion360 lithium battery system, paired with 600 watts of solar and a Victron 3,000-watt inverter, gives RVers serious freedom to explore off-grid. The system can even be expanded to 1,080 watts of solar power using four exterior ports, while a high-output second alternator ensures quick charging on the go, no generator required.

That power can run the Truma Aventa 13,500 BTU air conditioner all day before needing a recharge, offering the kind of self-sufficiency that makes every journey feel limitless.

Safety That Sets a New Standard

In addition to the Mercedes-Benz driver convenience package, which includes lane-keeping assist, collision warning, and side-wind stabilization, the Summit also includes blind-spot detection, a feature rarely seen in B-plus models.

Inside, Chinook engineered a pressurized fire suppression system that automatically deploys if temperatures exceed 200°F in critical areas like the battery compartment, engine bay, or generator box. It’s a safeguard that underscores Chinook’s commitment to peace of mind on every mile.

Award-Winning Livability

Every detail of the Summit is designed for modern travelers who value comfort as much as capability. From its refined finishes and ergonomic design to the intuitive Cerbo touchscreen monitoring system, the Summit blends luxury with practicality in ways that redefine the B-plus experience.

The 2025 Summit isn’t just the RV News RV of the Year, it’s a redefinition of what a Type B+ motorhome can be. From its advanced off-grid power system to its cutting-edge safety technology and elegant design, it’s made for travelers who expect more from their journey.
